The completed application form, together with all supporting material and the non-refundable application fee of 450 rmb (mainland china applicants) or £30 (all other applicants) should reach the appropriate address no later than 30 May 2008. The application fee must be received in order for the application to be processed. Applications received along with the application fee after this date will only be considered if places are still available.

For applicants outside mainland China, the completed application form and the application fee should be returned to:

Tuition fee

There is a 10% discount on tuition fees for students who apply by Monday 31 March. All LSE students receive a 10% discount (however discounts are not cumulative and students will only receive a maximum of 10 % at any one time). Once accepted onto the programme a tuition fee invoice and payment form will be sent to applicants. The full tuition fee is payable once the formal offer has been made. Deadline for payment is 30 June 2008.

Applicants applying from within China may pay the application fee to Peking University through the Post Office.

Applicants applying from outside China should pay the application fee to LSE.

LSE payment can be made by any of the following methods:

Cheques and banker's drafts can only be accepted if drawn in sterling and on a UK bank

Please note that LSE can only receive payments and make refunds in UK sterling.

Change of application and refund policy

Please tell us as soon as possible if there are any changes to your application. Changes include switch to another course, withdrawal from the LSE-PKU Summer School or delaying attendance to the next year. You may email us via lse-pku.programme@lse.ac.uk at the LSE or + 86 (0)10 62757362 pkulse@pku.edu.cn at PKU.

If you wish to withdraw from the programme the following refund policy will be applied

On or before 30 June 2008

95% refund of tuition fees only

Between 1 July and 5 July 2008

90% refund of tuition fees only

Between 6 July and 9 July 2008

50% refund of tuition fees only

10 July 2008 or later

No refund

If you wish to withdraw from the programme you should notify the LSE-PKU Summer School office where you originally applied. Notification of withdrawal received on Saturday, Sunday or a statutory holiday will be deemed to have been received the next working day.

The application fee is non-refundable.

We regret that we are unable to refund flights and accommodation,

All refunds will be processed after the completion of the LSE-PKU Summer School and will be made by Visa, MasterCard and Switch; or UK Sterling Cheque; or UK Sterling Banker’s Draft, depending on the original form of payment.

All refunds will be made in UK Sterling. The LSE cannot refund any shortfalls due to exchange rate fluctuations, or offer compensation for any bank or other charges incurred.

LSE is unable to refund all or part of the tuition fee in case of withdrawal due to illness during the programme. Students are advised to take out appropriate insurance to cover this eventuality.
