   UPON YOUR ARRIVAL

    + Residence Permit Application

Students who will be studying in China for more than 6 months and who possess a Student Visa/’X’ Visa must apply for a Residence Permit within the first 30 days of their arrival.

To apply for the Residence Permit, students must first submit the following documents to the Division of International Students’ Office:

    1. Student ID card
    2. Valid passport and Student Visa/ ‘X’ Visa
    3. Health Certificate certified by the Beijing Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
    4. Foreign Students Visa Application Form (JW201 or JW202)
    5. Admission Letter from Peking University
    6. 1 passport size photo
    7. Valid proof of students’ housing arrangement/Accommodation Certificate from the local police station. (Not required for the students living on-campus)

Next, students are required to collect the ‘Visa and Residence Permit Form’ from the Division of International Students’ Office when all the above 7 documents are given back to you by the office.

Finally, students must submit all the above documents including the ‘Visa and Residence Permit Form to the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau to obtain their Residence Permit. Normally it takes 5 workdays to get the Residence Permit back. But due to the high season of registration in September, you may get your passport with the Residence Permit back for over a month. Instructions to get to the Bureau:
Take a subway to Yong He Gong Subway Station; make an exit at the southeast gate of the station and walk east 500 meters.

Health Certificate

All students who are studying in China for more than 6 months must obtain a Health Certificate that is issued by the Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center (BITHC).

New students who have their Health Certificate issued by another body must have it verified by the BITHC. Students may be required to take a few items of medical examination offer by BITHC in order to obtain its Health Certificate.

Instructions to get to the BITHC:
First take a bus 333 outside the west gate of our campus, and get off at Zhong Hai Feng Lian Shanzhuang south gate Stop and walk 100m east. ( by taxi may cost 30 RMB)
