“Connecting the Worlds by Mid-Autumn Festival” PKU International Faculty Members Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival

The full moon came with another year's Mid-Autumn festival. PKU International Faculty Club held a series of Mid-Autumn events for international faculty members. On Sept. 17, 2021, the "Connecting the Worlds by Mid-Autumn Festival” celebration event was held at Linhuxuan. On Sept. 18, 2021, International faculties attended the Mid-Autumn gathering held by Beijing Overseas Talents Center. Over 30 International faculty members celebrated the festival together and enjoyed the festive delight and friendship across nationalities.



On Sept. 17, in the quaintly furnished Linhuxuan, international teachers appreciated the historical origins and rich cultures of the Mid-Autumn Festival through Chinese poems, myths and legends. International faculty members were so immersed in the delicate charm of the Chinese poetry through reciting ancient Chinese poems together. They were also stunned by the beautiful melody of "The moon speaks for my heart". In the backyard surrounded by green pines and cypresses, international teachers enjoyed the duet of the Chinese zither and flute, performed by the students from the Chinese Music Society. They all enjoyed a wonderful time with games, talks and laughters.



On September 18, the "2021 Mid-Autumn Festival Gathering for Foreign Talents in Beijing" was held at Beijing Language and Cultural Center for Diplomatic Missions. Nearly 100 foreign talents living in Beijing, from Peking University, Tsinghua University and China Media Group, attended this event. Through traditional chamber music concert, embroidery lecture, mooncake making, Chinese painting and calligraphy experience, Tai Chi appreciation and other events, the foreign talents enjoyed the unique charm of the Chinese traditional culture.


International faculty members expressed their love of the peaceful China, full of happiness, prosperity and harmony. They deeply felt the warmth and enthusiasm from Peking University and from all sectors of Beijing. Through these gatherings, they gained friendships and happiness as well as a deeper insight into the Chinese traditional culture.
