Dear candidates,

Due to the widespread of COVID-19 globally and associated travel restrictions, Peking University has made the tough decision to offer Summer School International program 2020 online. We are devoted to providing high-quality online courses by selecting excellent teachers and efficient teaching platforms,meanwhile certificate of attendance and authenticated official transcript will be provided by Peking University as well.

We understand that this may be a disappointing outcome of all the thoughtful preparation you have done for these programs. We know how much students look forward to studying in PKU. But currently, Beijing is still in the First-level Response Mechanism for public health emergencies. The prevention and control of pneumonia caused by COVID-19 has become the top priority. Moreover, the prevention and control of this epidemic is not only a matter of everyone’s health, but also responsibility and obligation of each person.

With change comes opportunity, and we would like to share our plans for the summer:

For new applicants who apply after April 15, 2020.

You can apply for our online courses through the official application channel:https://pku.17gz.org/member/login.dofrom April 15 to May 31, 2020.

Choose online courses from the new course list.We have selected 8 courses to choose from, which are popular with students in previous years, and they are distributed in different subjects, such as Economics, Regional Studies, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Computer Sciences, etc.

For applicants who apply before April 15, 2020.

You have two alternative options moving forward:

1) Choose online courses to substitute your original choice. Please choose according to the new course list, the original one is no longer applicable.

Since the seats of each course are limited, pleasemodify your courses from April 15 to April 24, after the expiration of this period, the application of refund and replacement cannot be submitted. During this period, new applications（online courses）will be received simultaneously. We’ll then be able to make sure have you selected successfully on the basis of vacancy remained.

This choice may cause the balance of tuition, we will notice you how to solve this problem after your decision.

2) Withdraw from the PKUSSI program, and we will refund your tuition in full.

Refunds will be made in Chinese currency only. Refunds will be returned to the original payment account. Bank transaction fee may be occurred during the refunding process and shall be borne by the party who asked for the refund.During this special period,the processing time may be longer, please wait patiently.

For all applicants

Early Bird discount cannot be enjoyed, but as a result of the switch to online courses, each applicant will receive a discount of RMB 2000 directly.

Please consult your home university about the credit transfer first, we will actively assist you in this matter.

We will evaluate the program on May 20th.Courses which have not meet the minimum enrollment requirement will be cancelled, and we will notice you in time and provide the full refund of tuition.
