PKUSSI Course:Classical Chinese Poetry

MEI Shenyou is an Assistant Professor in the English Department of Peking University. He received his B.A. of Scientific English from the University of Electronic Science in 2001, his M.A. of English and American Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2004. From 2011-2012, he was the visiting scholar at the University of Iowa. His main research interest is the art of poetry and its translation. He has written essays and reviews regarding English and American poetry composed by Elizabeth Bishop, Wislawa Szymborska, Czeslaw Milosz, to name just a few. He also translated Chinese poems by Li Yu and Su Shi. Dr. Mei won PKU Teaching Excellence Award and PKU School of Foreign Languages and Teaching Excellence Award in 2015.
