Dr. Xiaoxia Lu is an Associate Professor in the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University, China. She obtained her doctor degree in environmental science from the Department of Urban and Environmental sciences, Peking University in 2000. From 2000 to 2002, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, China. From 2002 to 2005, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Ground Water and Ecosystem Restoration Division of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Her research area is environmental remediation. She is member to several academic organizations including American Society for Microbiology, American Chemical Society, Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, and the Geographical Society of China. She has hosted or participated in near 20 research projects, published over 70 peer-reviewed academic papers, and been granted 4 invention patents. She was the recipient of the Science and Technology Award by the Beijing Science and Technology Committee in 2005, and of the Science and Technology Award offered by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2007.
