PKUSSI Course:China’s Original International Strategy: the Belt and Road Initiatives

Dr. ZHAI Kun is a full Professor in the School of International Studies, Peking University. He received his Bachelor and Master’s Degree from University of International Relations, and his Ph.D. from China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR). He was the visiting professor at School of Advanced International Studies at John Hopkins University and at the Atlantic Council (2001), and participated in the Global Youth Exchange Program hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (2003), Asia-Euro Youth Leader Forum in Hague Holland (2004), and the Sino-US Distinguished Youth Forum (2008). Before coming to PKU, he was appointed as the Director of Institute of Global Politics Studies (2011-2014), and the Director of Institute of South Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceanian Studies (2008-2011) at CICIR. His research areas include global, neighbouring and individual country studies (especially Southeast Asia and Oceanian region). He currently co-, And he holds many appointments such as Vice Chairman of China’s Association for Southeast Asia Studies, the distinguished member of the Chinese Expert Panel on ASEAN Regional Forum, Board Member of China Public Diplomacy Association, member of the Chinese Expert Panel Pan-Beibu Gulf (PBG) Economic Cooperation, Seinor Advisor of China-ASEAN Expo, etc.
