Dear International Faculty Members,
Greetings to all!
Peking University International Faculty Center cordially invites you to join a special guided tour of exhibitions held as part of Peking University’s International Culture Festival. These exhibitions are parts of the launch of "Re-encounter with Chinese Glories" (美遇东方), the Peking University Creative Initiative of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
"A Thousand Streams Reflects a Thousand Moons," celebrates the creativity and contemporary vitality of China’s intangible cultural heritage, featuring traditional crafts and modern interpretations that showcase the enduring beauty of Chinese culture. It’s also an exploratory exhibit of Chinese rural paintings by ten artists.
Mianzhu New Year Painting Woodblock Prints Exhibition showcases the charm of Chinese folk art on campus. Known for bold colours and expressive lines, this centuries-old art form from Sichuan turns myths and everyday life into joyful prints. Moreover, you’ll find creative merchandise inspired by the classics, including tote bags, notebooks, and cute mascot keychains.
The tour will be held on Friday, 24 October, starting at 2:00pm. We will first gather at the PKU Hall, 2nd Floor Gallery to appreciate "A Thousand Streams Reflects a Thousand Moons", before proceeding to the Peking University Second Gymnasium Exhibition Hall. A knowledgeable guide will accompany the group for approximately 30 minutes, offering insights to deepen your appreciation of the artworks. To join, please register by 12:00 this Thursday (October 23, 2025).
We look forward to your participation! Let us together to enjoy this inspiring journey through China’s living cultural traditions!
