The Graduate Student Union of Peking University and the Yenching Academy of Peking University held a Halloween party for graduate students in the evening of October 30, 2016, at the Xihua Business Hotel. The hall was strewn with festive Halloween decorations. The party was held from 6:30 to 10 pm.

Many students gathered at the entrance before 6PM, and volunteers were busy adding the final touches to the decorations before the doors opened. Laughs from the crowd indicated their excitement for the event. About two hundred students had come at 6:30.

The hall had a large area for dancing, a stage in the front, and areas to get made up on one side, and snacks on the other side. Students had fun trying on different masks and painting their faces and hands in different colors. Snacks like cakes were also quite welcome.

“My friend told me about this party and I can’t say no!” a British student from the School of Government said excitedly. This party attracted Chinese students as well as quite a lot of overseas students. A host from Seattle was still reviewing his lines when the party was about to begin.

\

The performances included dancing from the FL Crew, a magic show from the Magic Association, and chorus performance by a student group. After the performances finished, the dancing began. Students split up and stood with their partners, doing some simple practice under the guidance of a teacher. They danced to the music, embracing a sweet night with beautiful melodies.
