Delegation from Master Kong Visits PKU

On the morning of November 24, 2015, a delegation from the Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corporation (also known by the brand name Master Kong) visited Peking University (PKU). The delegation was comprised of Ko Yuen-Tat, Special Senior Assistant to the Chairman; Wu Zhiwei, Chef Human Resource Officer and other other officials from Master Kong. Jiang Zhengyin, Director of Waseda University’s International Department’s East Asia Section was also part of the delegation. Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU; Zheng Ruqing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations (OIR); Ma Lan, Deputy Dean of the OIR Division for Exchange Students; and Ding Ye, Officer of the OIR Division for Exchange Programs received the guests.

During the meeting on the morning of November 24, Mr. Li Yansong first showed his gratitude to Mr. Wu Zhiwei for promoting communication between PKU and Waseda University. Mr. Li also pointed out a few possible areas for comprehensive collaboration, which including technology development, personnel training, scientific research, health industry research, and the development of a virtual academy. During the delegation’s tour of the Stanford Center at PKU, Mr. Li Yansong explained that the “Stanford Center of PKU symbolizes the successful gathering of talents from both China and America,” and he continued, “therefore with the joining of Waseda University, this platform for the cooperation for talented people from China, Japan, and the U.S. is definitely of great significance.” The delegates from Master Kong agreed with the expectations of Mr. Li, and said they also looked forward to greater cooperative achievements in the future.

In regards to the current trend of “Popular Entrepreneurship and Innovation” in China, Mr. Ko Yuen-Tat emphasized the importance of supporting emerging enterprises, and he explained his wish that Master Kang would have more opportunities to contribute to society and encourage entrepreneurship and innovation. He also stressed the importance of a well-educated workforce, which Master Kong is also longing for, and expressed his willingness to jointly work with PKU on this issue.
