On November 19, 2015, a delegation from Jutendo University visited Peking University (PKU). The delgation was comprised of Professor OGAWA Hideoki, CEO of Juntendo University and President of Juntendo University International Center; Professor ARAI Hajime, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery; Professor AOKI Shigeki from the Department of Radiology in the Graduate School of Medicine; Associate Professor HATANO Taku in the Faculty of Medicine; Senior Associate Professor UNEMURA Atsushi from the Department of Neurosurgery in the Faculty of Medicine; Specially Appointed Professor TAKAMORI Kenji as the Director of the Institute for Environmental and Gender-Specific Medicine; Senior Associate Professor NIYONSABA Francois in the Atopy/Allergy Research Center in the Graduate School of Medicine. LI Yansong, Vice President of PKU, ZHENG Ruqing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations and other officials from PKU Office of International Relations received the guests.
Mr. Li Yansong first warmly welcomed the delegation. He gave a brief introduction of PKU, pointing out its wide communication with universities all over the world, including more than 20 universities in Japan. With medical science as the major faculty, Jutendo University has long cooperated with PKU. A total of three scientific seminars were successfully held previously between the two universities, and the fourth seimanr will be held helt at PKU with the aim of diagnosing, treatmenting, and researching brain and skin diseases.
Then OGAWA Hideoki briefly introduced the history of Jutendo University. Founded in 1838, Jutendo University has played an indispensable role in Janpan’s history, particularly in providing a great number of outstanding medical workers and advanced scientific medical research. Mr. OGAWA explained that the relationship between China and Japan was reaching a state of “New Spring”, from which he further emphasised his wish of creating a relationship where the two sides cooperate and co-research.
Following Mr. OGAWA, ARAI Hajime specifically illustrated the topic of the coming seminar between the PKU Health Science Center and Jutendo University. At the end of the meeting, both Li and OGAWA presented gifts to each other.
