On October 20, 2015, a delegation led by Koji Omi, the founder and chairman of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum, former Japanese Minister of Science and Technology Policy and former Minister of Finance, visited Peking University (PKU). During the talk, President Koji Omi talked about the rapid advancement in science and technology and the current situation of STS Forum. He said this forum aims to provide a new mechanism for open discussions on an informal basis and to build a human network that would, in time, resolve the problems stemming from the process of the application of science and technology. The forum community will also explore the opportunities arising from science and technology and will address how to remove the barriers we are facing when solving the problems in science and technology.

President Koji Omi invited Peking University to attend STS Forum in Japan next year . Vice President Wang stated that science and technology are both closely connected with the daily lives of people. He agreed that these days, the benefits of science and technology are not reaching the whole world. The barriers to seizing the opportunities to solve the problems of humankind in the areas of science and technology need to be further discussed and explored. He then expressed his interest in this forum.

At the end of the meeting, Vice President Wang presented the guests with souvenirs and then they took group photos together.
