Mr. Li extended a warm welcome to the guests and asked about the development of the University of Luxembourg. Mr. Leprévost said he was glad to visit PKU again. As for the development of his university, the ranking of the University of Luxembourg keeps rising and is now among the top 10% of the world’s universities according to last year’s data. The University of Luxembourg attaches great importance to the study of life science and computer science and is in prospect of finding ways to cure disease with combined knowledge of computer science, physics, and math. He indicated his willingness to enhance the relationship with PKU in the fields of life sciences and computer sciences and his willingness to discuss the possibility of promoting student exchanges.

Li Yansong mentioned the agreement reached between the two universities 3 years ago and stated that PKU was expecting further collaboration and agreements with the University of Luxembourg. According to Professor Leprévost, presently, the University of Luxembourg has a program that offers two PKU students financial support each year and sends them to study in Luxembourg after their third year at PKU. He hoped PKU would continue to select excellent undergraduates to participate in this exchange program the following year.

Li Yansong agreed with Professor Leprévost to increase the number of faculty and students exchanges. He also suggested that to create more opportunities of academic exchange, the University of Luxembourg could organize more international conferences and invite more scholars to go to Luxembourg for more profound communications.

Towards the end of the meeting, Li Yansong presented the guests with gifts, and they took a photo together in front of Linhuxuan.
