Delegation of San Jose State University Visits PKU

On May 6, 2015, Andy Feinstein, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at San Jose State University (SJSU), along with Andrew Hsu, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Ray Chen, Dean of the Department of Electronic Engineering, visited Peking University (PKU). They were welcomed at Linhuxuan by Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU, Du Peng, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Software and Microelectronics, Wu Zhonghai, Deputy Dean of the School of Software and Microelectronics, and Yu Lian, Professor of the School of Software and Microelectronics. Delegates from both sides engaged in a friendly discussion regarding collaboration between the two universities.

First, Andy Feinstein exclaimed that this discussion symbolizes a fresh beginning of a long-term collaborative effort between SJSU and PKU, while expressing his regret that exchange programs for students have been limited in the past.

Then PKU delegation gave a general summary of the School of Software and Microelectronics, including its long-term goals, its student body, and its core projects.

\

Vice President Li suggested that special exchange programs and summer schools designed for SJSU and PKU can be an attractive choice. He also stressed SJSU’s special location, which can provide close partnerships with local companies such as Yahoo, Google, and Apple.

\

Towards the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to build a stronger relationship and exchanged souvenirs. After the meeting, the SJSU delegation took a campus tour and visited the School of Software and Microelectronics.
