On the morning of October 29th, Maja Makovec Brencic, Vice President of Universitas Labacensis paid a visit to Peking University (PKU), accompanied by Maria Adanja, Slovenian Ambassador to China. Vice President of PKU Li Yansong met the guests at Lin huxuan and exchanged views on the possibility of cooperation.
Vice President Maja Makovec Brencic noted that Universitas Labacensis had set up cooperation with many Chinese universities. In Slovenia, many students choose Chinese as their second foreign language and pursue study in the Confucius Institute housed in Universitas Labacensis. He wish that students can learn the best of the Orient through the communication with PKU, and Universitas Labacensis can strengthen cooperation with PKU in Chinese learning, economics, natural science, arts, architecture and medicine.
As for this, Vice President Li Yansong expressed that PKU endeavored to nourish multicultural background and international prospective of its students via overseas study programs. He stressed that the creativity and vitality students show enable them to study in other countries and expose themselves to more communication opportunities. These programs not only bring academic progress and new ideas for them, but also enrich their experience and broaden their horizons through their exposure to foreign politics and life. PKU always place great emphasis on its exchanges with European universities and it wish to forge cooperative ties with Universitas Labacensis in specific areas.
Then Vice President Li Yansong invited Maja Makovec Brencic to join Beijing Forum and contributed to promote the research of humanities and social sciences under global context.
