On September 22rd, Sergey Kravtsov, head of the Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency, visited PKU. Zhu Shanlu, Chairperson of PKU Council, met the guest at Linhuxuan, accompanied by Vice President Li Yansong, Prof. Wang Xinyi, Dean of the Department of Russian.
Zhu Shanlu extended warm welcome for Sergey Kravtsov’s visit. He noted that this visit played a role in facilitating educational communication between China and Russia. PKU has long maintaining sound cooperative ties with its Russian counterparts, especially with recent years witnessing Chinese-Russian relations entering a new stage. PKU hopes to deepen its cooperation with Russian universities, strengthening its communication with Russian universities in student and scholar exchanges, joint training of students and scientific research.
Sergey Kravtsov said that the Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency was organized directly under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and it achieved the control over the quality of education through offering permits in running schools, assessment of students’ quality and national accreditation of schools. He highly valued the educational cooperation with China, hoped to learn school running experience form China, and explored the ways to push forward educational cooperation between the two countries.
Chairperson Zhu said that Chinese-Russian educational cooperation would be push ahead with concerted efforts, and invited officials from Russian educational departments and Russian Embassy to China to attend PKU International Cultural Festival.
