On the morning of May 27th, Prof. Jean-Lou Chameau, President of King Abdullah University, led a delegation and visited Peking University (PKU). Prof. Wang Enge, President of PKU, received the guests at Linhuxuan, accompanied by Prof. Zhang Xiaodong, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Zhou Hui, Director of the Office of Sciences and Researches, and Li Hongwuan, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations.

Prof. Wang Enge first extended warm welcome for the arrival of the delegation. He gave a brief introduction about PKU’s development in recent years and expected that both sides can carry out substantial cooperation in the fields of new energies and new materials in the future.

Then Prof. Zhang Xiaodong and Li Hongwuan talked about cooperation between King Abdullah University and PKU’s College of Engineering and the Office of International Relations respectively.

Prof. Jean-Lou Chameau extended thanks for Prof. Wang Enge’s hospitable reception. He mentioned his experience of working as the president of California Institute of Technology before he was appointed as the president of King Abdullah Univer

sity. He also said that King Abdullah University offered favorable treatment for overseas students and welcomed PKU students to pursue study at King Abdullah University.After the meeting, Prof. Jean-Lou Chameau delivered a speech titled Role of Curiosity, Rigor and Collaboration in Global Research Universities at Yingjie Exchange Center.
