The unique contribution made by A Bite of China lies in taking cuisine as the theme, displaying and spreading Chinese civilization under a global context. Then, Mr. Liu Wen, Director of CCTV Documentary Channel, said that as a successful documentary, A Bite of China has huge influence both in China and other countries.  The extensive attention and debate aroused by A Bite of China means that Chinese documentary acquires international perspective and level in its true sense.

The guest speakers include chief director Chen Xiaoqing, Chen Lei, director of the episode Inheritance of Chinese Cuisine, Hu Bo, director of the episode Seasons, and Deng Jie, director of the episode Home Cooking. Meanwhile Prof. Yu Hong, vice Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, and Prf. Four team members’ talking enables the audience to realize the intention of the directors’ creativity and have a deeper understanding of the connotation behind A Bite of China. Although starts from cuisine, what the documentary really wants to show is Chinese people behind the delicious dashes and what it really wants to convey is a kind of profound Chinese cuisine culture.
