The tuition fees for attending the LSE-PKU Summer School are as below:

*Student rate applies to all full-time students who are currently enrolled at a university or college anywhere in the world. Professional participants who are no longer in full-time education but who are alumni of LSE or PKU (including alumni of the LSE-PKU Summer School or our other Summer Schools), are also able to take advantage of the student rate.

In addition, a ¥450 application fee must be paid when submitting your application.

   

How to pay

   

A ¥450 application fee(non-refundable) must be paid by all applicants via the PKU International Student Application Service System before an application can be processed. 

Once you have been made an offer, you will be provided with instructions about how to pay your tuition fee.

   

'Early Bird' discount

   

We are delighted to offer an 'Early Bird' discount for all fully completed applications received by 31 March 2020.

   

   

Change of course

   


Any applicant or registered student who wishes to change their course should submit their request by e-mail to pkulse@pku.edu.cn 

Requests can only be considered subject to availability and should be submitted by 14 June 2020. Applicants requesting a course change after this date may be asked to pay a 'late course change fee'.

   

Withdrawal

   

Cancellation Period

As participants enter a contract with the LSE-PKU Summer School by means of distance communication, it is possible to terminate the contract and withdraw from the programme within 14 calendar days from the date on which the offer of a place is accepted. Please note that any request to withdraw must be provided in writing to pkulse@pku.edu.cn. We will issue the refund of relevant tuition fees within ninety (90) calendar days of such a cancellation.    

Refund Policy

We operate the following policy for refunds after the Cancellation Period:

  1. In order to withdraw from the programme, applicants must inform the LSE-PKU Summer School Office in writing by sending an email to pkulse@pku.edu.cn and receive written acknowledgement of their withdrawal.

  2. Tuition fees will then be refunded in accordance with the terms set out below. The application fee is non-refundable.

Please also note: 

  • All refunds are made in Chinese currency (RMB). The LSE-PKU Summer School cannot refund any shortfalls due to exchange rate fluctuations, or offer compensation for any bank or other charges incurred.

  • Refunds will be made onto the credit/debit card used to make the payment.

  • The application fee is non-refundable, and no refunds can be issued against any additional costs incurred for travel, accommodation, or changes in exchange rates, etc.

In the event that an LSE-PKU Summer School course is cancelled, participants registered for that course will be offered a place on an alternative course within the 2020 LSE-PKU Summer School, or a full refund of their tuition fees. Registered participants will be informed as early as possible if a course is at risk of cancellation, and by 31 May 2020 at the latest.
