A delegation led by Prof. Uriel Reichman, Dean of IDC Herzliya, visited Peking University (PKU) on March 24th, 2014. Prof. Li Yansong, Vice President of Peking University received the guests at Lin Huxuan, accompanied by Prof. Fan Shiming, Vice Dean of the School of International Studies, associate professor Wang Suolao, Director of Center for Middle East Studies.
Prof. Li Yansong first extended warm welcome to the delegation. Then he gave a brief introduction on international exchanges that PKU engaged in, such as collaboration with universities in Israel and the Confucius Institute jointly established by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and PKU.
Prof. Uriel Reichman introduced the aim of IDC Herzliya which places emphasis on teaching and research of social sciences, especially the subjects of politics and finance so as to promote interdisciplinary education. Although the history of IDC Herzliya is short, it has already established cooperative partnership with world class universities like the University of California, Berkeley, Washington University in St Louis and the National University of Singapore.
Prof. Uriel Reichman hoped more communication and cooperation would be carried out with PKU, and PKU professors would be invited to IDC Herzliya and deliver lectures on Chinese Studies. Prof. Li Yansong expressed gratitude for Prof. Uriel Reichman’s introduction and gracious invitation.
After the meeting, members of IDC Herzliya paid a visit to the School of International Studies and Guanghua School of Management respectively to have in-depth communication.
