Climate Change Problem & Opportunities: Finding a Realistic Pathway to Clean Energy & Stable Climate

2015-12-21 08:51:00

On December 21,2015 professor James Hansen gave a lecture entitled “Climate Change Problem & Opportunities: Finding a Realistic Pathway to Clean Energy & Stable Climate”. As we recognize more and more the threat that climate change poses for young people and further generations, we urgently need to learn to drive the climate wisely. With a small per capita contribution to CO2 emissions, China has not been a major cause of climate change.  Yet its role will grow in the future, which means that China must be a leader in finding ways to minimize the undesirable climate effects. There are opportunities to address both climate change and air pollution, but the pathways to achieve these ends need to be well understood. This lecture will discuss both the challenges and opportunities in climate change, and the possible pathways for China to take to address the climate and pollution issue, while achieving economic growth.
