卢煜明

(Y.M. Dennis Lo)

卢煜明教授是香港中文大学医学院副院长（研究）及化学病理学系系主任。1997年，他在国际上首次发现孕妇外周血中存在游离的胎儿DNA，并随后成功研发出“无创产前诊断”（non-invasive prenatal testing, NIPT），该方法已被全球90多个国家及地区广泛采用。他也在基于血浆游离DNA的多癌无创早筛领域取得了卓越的成就。他是多个生物技术公司的联合创始人。卢煜明教授是英国皇家学会院士、美国国家科学院外籍院士和香港科学院创院院士和院长，获得2021年科学突破奖-生命科学奖和2022年拉斯克临床医学研究奖。

Professor Dennis Lo is the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Medicine and the Chairman of the Department of Chemical Pathology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). In 1997, he was the first in the world to discover the presence of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma. He has successfully developed non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), which is now widely adopted in over 90 countries. He has also made inventions for multi-cancer screening using blood plasma. He has co-founded a number of biotechnology companies. In recognition of his research, Professor Lo has been elected as Fellow of the Royal Society, Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences, President and Founding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Hong Kong, and given the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences and the 2022 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award.
