背景资料：

2020年3月，北京大学公共卫生学院牵头组织，在环太平洋大学联盟（Association of Pacific Rim Universities, APRU）框架下发起了题为“公共卫生危机管理研究与教育国际合作（Potential international collaboration of research and education on public health crisis management）”的项目倡议，并得到新加坡国立大学公共卫生学院（National University of Singapore, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health）、美国加州大学洛杉矶分校公共卫生学院（University of California, Los Angeles, Fielding School of Public Health）、悉尼大学公共卫生学院（The University of Sydney, Sydney School of Public Health）的积极响应，四所公共卫生学院共同组成了APRU“公共卫生危机管理”项目核心组。

目前，由APRU主办，其秘书处承办，核心组正在共同组织有关公共卫生危机管理的系列网络学术研讨会。首次会议由UCLA公共卫生学院牵头，已于2020年9月30日举行；第二次会议由NUS公共卫生学院牵头，已于2020年12月10日举行；第三次会议由北京大学公共卫生学院牵头，已于2021年1月13日举行；第四次会议将由U of Sydney公共卫生学院于3月18日牵头组织。研讨会旨在加深四所大学之间的相互了解，并为未来寻求深入合作提供机会。

未来，合作将在目前项目核心组的基础上不断扩大，以形成一个致力于公共卫生危机管理的APRU平台。该平台将与正在进行的APRU各项论坛和活动紧密联系，并由所有APRU成员大学共同参与。在APRU框架下建立的公共卫生危机管理研究与教育平台，将为建立一个更安全、更健康的世界做出重大贡献。
